Roger Ailes' New Jersey home sells for $1.55M, $705K less than asking

Fox News architect Roger Ailes' estate has sold off his longtime Cresskill home for $1.55 million, 30 percent less than its original asking price of $2.25 million, according to Zillow.com.

The sale comes two months after Ailes' death at 77 following a fall in his Palm Beach home, and a year after he was ousted from the network he built in the wake of numerous sexual harassment allegations.

Ailes and his wife Elizabeth bought the four-bedroom brick ranch, designed by architect Jorge Rosello, in 2000 for $1.85 million, shortly before they welcomed their only child, Zachary. Built in 1983, the 3,500-square-foot home on an acre of land features a sunken living room, a glass-roofed sunroom, and a lower level walk-out to the pool and park-like backyard. Property taxes are $40,240 a year.

The price was knocked down twice before finding a buyer; the last listing price was $1.65 million.

The purchaser can use the money that was saved to fumigate the Republican stench from the place. There are a number of unflattering photos of the home at the link which might explain why the price of the home depreciated since 2000.
