Related: About this forumI am so disillusioned with the Union County Democrats
Nick Scutari and his band of thugs firstly arm twisted local democratic committee members into voting for him. I faced intense pressure into voting for him in an open vote. TWO state senators called me up .. they sent muffins to my house and .. Dire consequences were conjured up for the next year's town council election if Colleen Mahr won the race...
And now they have followed it up the at the Congressional primaries.. while I like Malinowski's resume .. I am seeing some of the ugliest politicking in my life.. Linda Webber was scuttled by her own cities committee president ( Who has corruption charges up the wazoo)... every grassroots activist I know is disgusted and feels used.
If the corrupt thugs think they can co-opt the movement to their benefit - fuck them.

(33,732 posts)Linda Webber went low - against a fellow Democratic with that ad.
I'm in your district but out in Hunterdon County.
We have to keep our eyes on the prize - I'm sticking with Peter until he wins or loses the primary.
I'm in a private facegroup book of women/activists for Hunterdon County and we are desperate in the land of Trump thugs to get rid of Lance.
Desperate.
My fear now is that she has planted the seed in a GE to hurt Malinowski. That's why I'm sticking with Peter and backing up to Goutam should Peter drop.
If it's just Tom at the end I will still cast a ballot because we need to ROAR in the far edges of this extremely gerrymandered district.
Look on the bright side - the weed dispensary 'plans' coming out today. Minimum 2 up to 10 in each of the State's districts. That's good right?
Phil launched the 'path' to 15 - we are doing this dollar by dollar - but it's time to get it done.
Roy Freiman - our newly elected Democratic Assemblyman in the 16th is meeting his Democratic Party members in Flemington Borough at Lone Eagle tomorrow night. We have TWO Democratics representing us in the Assembly in NJ. We stole another seat from a Republican in RURAL Hunterdon County last year.
There's so much good in NJ - don't give up the fight.'
Remember how it felt last November when we put down the opposition.
Stay focused and remember - nothing feels as good as a figurative punch in the throat to a Republican candidate.

(1,547 posts)Linda is from my town - all the committee members ( I am one too) were backing her. But the Municipal Chair - George Devanny ( Google him -- he is a corrpupt thug. His wife Angie Devanny has a company called Keywood strategies that the spearhead of pay to play in Union County) - didnt tell anyone and blindsided us by Voting for Tom. There is shit storm in my town due to his vote.
Linda lost 6-7. Had George voted for her - She would have gotten the party line. Basically there is some disgusting internal angle between Tom, Nick Scutari & George. Nick & George guy only care about power in Union County.
Also, Tom is not a grassroots candidate like Linda, Peter or Gautam. All money ( that he loves to bring up) is not raised locally.
Linda will dropout and will not contest the primary as she had promised if she did not get the Union county backing.
The local grassroots folks are shattered.

(33,732 posts)That's why Peter remains my favorite (strong supporter in 2016 - donor, etc. etc.)
He's so 'unaffected' - know what I mean? Not just his mannerisms/speech - but who he is. He's not naïve - but he's very much what you see is what you get.
Goutam is still on the board for me.
If you are really a big proponent of Sanders - Peter reflects a lot of that - but with solid 'here's how we can do it'.
