Balderas endorses Lujan Grisham for governor
Democratic Attorney General Hector Balderas has endorsed U.S. Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham for governor.
Balderas himself had considered running for governor in 2018, but he announced in May that he would instead run for re-election as attorney general.
His endorsement this week comes as Lujan Grisham, who launched her campaign for governor in December, seeks to establish herself as the Democrats’ presumptive nominee.
Balderas said he always has been committed to making the state safe for children, protecting seniors from fraud and holding corporations accountable. “I know that as governor Michelle will tackle these issues head-on,” he said in a statement.
