New Mexico AG cracking down on Medicaid fraud, elder abuse

Attorney General Hector Balderas announced Wednesday plans to crack down on Medicaid fraud and elder abuse throughout the state.

He said the initiative will include reviewing Medicaid bills to try to catch fraud.

“We will be targeting and mining key, specific data that will be an important, game changing effort to bring about a more accountable system for the most vulnerable population in New Mexico,” Balderas said at a news conference.

An awareness campaign that includes televised commercials is also part of the initiative.
