A crucial Santa Fe Democratic Party meeting is only ten days away. We need Bernie supporters to attend this meeting in large numbers to ensure Bernie is on the NM primary ballot and that he has the majority of NM delegates at the National Convention. This is a difficult process to grasp, so please read carefully.
The County Democratic Party Pre-Primary Meeting is Jan. 9, at 1420 Cerrillos Rd., with registration at 8:30 a.m. At this meeting, Ward elections will be held to select delegates for the State Dem. Party Convention on March 12. It is critical that we elect as many Bernie delegates as possible––Bernie needs the support of 20% of these delegates statewide to get on the primary ballot. And on March 12, these delegates will select the delegates who will be eligible to represent NM in the National Democratic Convention in July with the precise allocation of eligible delegates then determined by the primary results.
To prepare for the Jan. 9 meeting, we will have an Emergency Coordinating Meeting, Jan. 2, 2:30-4:30 pm at The Railyard Performance Center, 1611 Paseo De Peralta, (enter yellow warehouse building between El Museo Cultural and LewAllen Gallery from Camino de La Familia) directly across from the Railyard Pavillion. This meeting will help you identify your Ward, and we will discuss strategies to elect as many Bernie supporters as possible.
We need as many Bernie supporters as possible to attend both meetings. We need RSVPs for the Jan. 9 meeting in particular. Please respond to this email with your Ward #, which you can identify at the link below. We need to know how many Bernie supporters will be in each Ward meeting on the 9th so we can develop the best strategy for electing the most Bernie delegates. If you would like to be a delegate, please tell us this as well. Then forward this email to others.
How to identify your Ward # and the time of your Jan. 9th Ward meeting: The link below takes you to a state website where you can identify what precinct you are in. Then you can use the list below to identify your Ward Number (Wards are comprised of 2-7 precincts).
