Lovelace or UNM Hospital for surgery?

I may be needing abdominal surgery soon, after an upcoming CT scan.
My insurance covers both Lovelace and UNM Hospital (in Albuquerque).

Has anyone had experience with either Lovelace downtown (on Martin Luther King) or UNM Hospital for surgery,
and which would you recommend?

Only thing somewhat helpful I've found online is that UNM has 12 docs specializing in gastrointestinal surgery while Lovelace downtown has two.

Thanks

UNM

UNM is way better - a teaching hospital - more docs of every kind.

Tried to get a friend transferred there when she got an infection after surgery,
Best of luck with the surgery!

with good results. No surgical experience at Lovelace MLK, but good doctors and service.
