Outage restoration update for Moore County (12/7) >

All substation equipment damaged from recent vandalism has either been fully repaired or replaced. Once we have completed all necessary testing, the gradual restoration of service to those Moore County communities still without power will begin. To avoid overwhelming the electrical system we will bring power back on gradually, with the goal of having the majority of customers restored before midnight tonight.

Randolph Electric Membership Corp had this message on their website.

They built a three mile long tie line to give some intermittent power to their affected customers. My recollection is that they provided power to the Seven Lakes area among others.

Tuesday Evening Update: REMC Continues Rotation, Plans for Full Restoration

Updated December 6, 2022, 6 pm

On Tuesday, December 6, REMC rotated a limited power supply among Moore County members affected by the Duke transmission outage. After completing the construction of two tie-lines, Randolph Electric will continue this rotating restoration to sections of the service area and will monitor load levels around the clock until we receive word of transmission line repair.
