Hi, Ive been looking at the polls and other data on the Senate races and thinking about making calls to persuade dems to come out to vote...
Looks like compared to the other tossup Senate races, each voter in ND carries much more weight, so calls can make more of a difference here.

(6,513 posts)Support for Joe Donnelly has been what I would call Blue Wave-esque. A lot of Democrats I've talked with while canvassing say that they've never voted in midterms before, but are excited to vote for Donnelly this November.

Now I have received a summons for jury duty on October 16. That is right when I want to be making my final push. Darn.

(29,536 posts)Are you finding new dems unknown to your district dem team?
I am finding people fed up with repiggies, people who have moved into the area and people who are Democrats but do not vote in primaries.

(12,492 posts)The party needs good volunteers who show up and do whatever is needed, calling voters, giving them rides, arranging rides. Now it also includes contacting voters to have them make sure their voter registration is up to date prior to the cut off date to register.

(29,536 posts)Back when I was doing GOTV for Kerry in inner city Cleveland, OH we were stunned by the number of folks whod gotten calls from the OH Sec of States office (who happened to be Bushs OH campaign chair) informing them they couldnt vote because, e.g., they hadnt voted in the last election, or even because their brother was in jail! Cretins stooping to new lows all the time. We have to prioritize fixing our election system, job #1!
