Related: About this forumPerspective on Ohio Issue One
Hey guys - just doing my early voting and looking for a little group perspective on Issue One. On the surface, it feels like a YES but I can't tell if there are any landmines in it. Sometimes the wording on this stuff is designed to get the wrong answer.
I pulled up the Hamilton County Dem web site. Useless. Couldn't find a "sample ballot" to save my life. If it's there, it's well hidden. guess that explains why we're such a red county. LOL
Anyway - thoughts?
Thanks.

(43,006 posts)1. Try the League of Women Voters for Ohio
http://www.lwvohio.org/ They have a list of pros and cons on it
(I am of the "Hell, YES!" persuasion, btw)

'and the courts can't overturn maps drawn by the new commission'. That seems a bit iffy to me. I didn't think you could simply chop a branch of government out of the balance of power by legislating it.
Still, it does seem like it would have to be better than what we've already got.
(ETA - Thanks for that link. Based on what is there, I'm agreeing with the recommendations of the League.)

(5,417 posts)4. Its supported by the Ohio republican party, and the Ohio Democrat party
There are no major groups that oppose it. Seems like an easy chice, and should pass easily.
