2 Ohio children shot dead over the past weekend

2 separate incidents ... a 2 year old was shot and killed by her 6-year old brother, and an 8-year old boy was shot by a 13-year-old relative.

In the case of the 2-year old:

The Advocate reports the mother of the victim told police that Massuros has a history of leaving loaded weapons around the house and that they were easily accessible. She said the 6-year-old found a weapon and was playing with it when it fired, ABC 6 reports.

ABC 6 also reports that police have been to the home 60 times for domestic incidents, often involving guns and knives. Police and the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation are investigating the shooting.

******* Sixty times police were called to this home, a home with children living in it, and yet no one was ever arrested or made to give up their dangerous weapons.
What in the hell do they have to investigate further?

My head and my heart just ache.

I’m in Fairfield County right next door... Wonder how it’s gonna be in the next 10-15 or so years when 310 is the next 256 and Pataskala is the next Pickerington? “Progress” seems to move ever eastward around here. First it was Hamilton Rd, then Brice Rd, now 256 then 310. Licking County is gonna have to up its game and maybe stop being so dang right wing backwards conservative. And I don’t blame you a bit for getting the heck out of Licking County!!

My high school sweetheart lived in a house at the intersection of 40 and 310. I can’t even find where the house stood now.

Housing is still pretty reasonable around Newark. I keep wondering if people from here in Columbus..progressive people..will head that way as prices get ever more ridiculous here and slowly change the culture.

The house he lived in as a youngster is in the south end of C-bus. It’s an area that’s been becoming more popular over the last few years-around Merion Village, Schiller Park area. The house has been beautifully rehabbed and is selling for high $300’s. Who would ever have imagined? And the housing here in Pickerington is crazy. All of the new construction are homes starting around $300. It’s amazing to me. Doesn’t seem affordable-at least to me. And yep-310 is crazy. My SILs mom lives right in town in Pataskala and driving down 310 to her house all you see are For Sale signs in all of those huge farm fields. Figure there’s gonna be a lot more houses being built out there in the not so far off future. Ever eastward it moves. Newark isn’t a bad little town at all. People should check it out. I think they’d be pleasantly surprised!!

Moved to Heath when I was six, and lived there till I left home at nineteen. There are a lot of cool things happening in Newark. I still have a few cousins there that I try to stay connected with, but it’s hard since I’m a “damn liberal”.

I remember Merion Village in the 1990s. Had friends who lived on City Park. Spent a lot of time at Bluegrass Musicians Supply. It was kinda the Wild West down there in those days.

serval. That dead "pet" parent is facing 21 counts for various infractions of rule of law; yet no one removes the human children of an angry drunk and enabling woman who won't protect the kids? 60 times for domestic violence, and now this inevitable juvenile tragedy?

The other situation - no way a crime with an unsecured lethal weapon was "accidental."

Today: Gun found in Grove City student's school bag.

I thought the TPTB aka GOP thugs were trying to kill off seniors, not the youth of our country. Something really needs to change!
