(426 posts)Ive been watching to see when there would be positive tests here in OH. The state website showed possible cases being tested, and a few cleared, for several days, and now its finally arrived.

(426 posts)...I should have been more clear. Im sure its been here, and more prevalent than we knew, for some time now.
Im no longer working and am able to pretty much stay home, but hubby still works and is in close contact with people constantly. His first order of duty upon coming home from work is to drop everything at the door and wash his hands before touching anything in the house. Then the doorknobs he touched get cleaned.

(43,006 posts)We all knew it was a matter of time and testing before confirmation.
And I'm glad my husband is doing more of his computer support work from the basement--lots can be done now remotely without him going out and about. My biggest fear is for my 89-year old mom; her health isn't the greatest and I have to run errands for her a couple times a week.

(426 posts)Its a very expensive, fancy assisted living facility (genuinely so happy they can afford it). But I dont think the virus cares how much money one has, or who the healthcare workers and other staff interact with when they go home every night.
Both parents are in their 90s. Dad has cancer and mom has dementia. I was making the 4.5 hr drive once a month to visit for a week each time, but Ive stopped that now. Its heartbreaking, but I dont want to bring the virus to them. My sister and brother still live in their area so they are checking in briefly a few times a week by phone, and meeting them outside for short visits...keeping a few feet away.

(71,033 posts)and needs to be tested...she is 68 but in bad shape. Hubs who is smart said skype and phone only ...no visits when this thing hit...didn't want to get it and also didn't want a vulnerable nursing home to be subject to what happened in Washington state if we had it. Trump is a murderer. There is help with getting tested...still hard. I am in Bedford.
