Recount of Tulsa mayoral election underway

TULSA, Okla. — One of the largest election recounts in state history got underway in Tulsa after a judge ruled a recount of the August 27 Tulsa mayoral election could proceed.

FOX23 got a look inside at the recounting at the new headquarters for the Tulsa County Election Board.

FOX23 was able to speak to one of the board members inside and she said they're working to go over every single ballot as quickly and as effectively as possible.

Inside the soon to be headquarters for the Tulsa County Board of Elections, more than 40 poll workers, all precinct officials, were hand counting and double checking the votes cast by Tulsans in the election for mayor.
