First day of in-person early voting in Oklahoma draws a large crowd

OKLAHOMA CITY — The line to vote early at the Oklahoma County Election Board on the first day Wednesday snaked through the parking lot a few times and drew a line of cars overflowing over a mile down Lincoln Boulevard.

Voters waiting at the front of the line said Wednesday that they had been waiting around an hour to cast their vote and still hadn’t made it inside the building yet.

KJ Kimmet who was near the front of the line said she had spent the time talking with the people around her and her husband, Russ.

“I thought it wouldn’t be as busy as the big day, but I think it’ll be like this every day of voting,” she said.
