HUGE: The Supreme Court sides with Richard Glossip, holding that prosecutors violated his constitutional rights by failing to correct false testimony at his trial. It directs the Oklahoma courts to vacate his conviction!

Sotomayor writes the opinion for the court in favor of Glossip, joined by Roberts, Kavanaugh, Kagan, and Jackson. Barrett joins in part and dissents in part; Thomas and Alito dissent.
This is really big news. Glossip's trial was so unfair that even Oklahoma's attorney general wanted a new one.

Sotomayor writes that the prosecution should have correct the star witness when he falsely said he was prescribed lithium for a cold (rather than a serious mental disorder). The prosecution's inaction violated Glossip's due process rights, compelling a new trial.

Gorsuch recused from this case because he was involved in Glossip's appeals while serving on the 10th Circuit. So the vote is 5–3 to vacate his conviction, with Thomas and Alito dissenting in full, and Barrett dissenting in part. (She agreed that the lower court misapplied due process principles.)
