(527 posts)A few years back I experienced my first earthquake. It was very mild, but did wake my wife and I early in the morning. Our house is in northeast Oklahoma, and we were not expecting earthquakes here. We had moved from Wisconsin 16 years ago, and expected tornadoes, but not earthquakes. After reading about fracking, and doing a little research on the subject, insurance seemed to be a good idea. When we checked with out agent, we learned that adding earthquake insurance to our policy was not very expensive. The coverage can not be purchased right after a major quake, so if you are interested, check it out now, before we start getting more. This is just my personal opinion, so take it for what it is worth.
