The fire broke out around 6 a.m. underneath I-95 near the Cottman Avenue exit in the Tacony section of the city.
Sources say the blaze was caused by a tanker truck carrying thousands of gallons of 87 octane gasoline.

(27,562 posts)Can you imagine the desperation and incompetence that would still be in charge if the last election had turned out differently? Not only would they be fumbling this incident, but thered probably be nothing in the budget for repairs and improvements.
Anyway, I hope DOT is able to find the best workarounds possible to keep this vital transportation corridor open.
