Erie Mayor Joe Schember (D), facing primary challenge, kicks off re-election campaign
Erie Mayor Joe Schember has made it official: he is seeking a third four-year term.
Schember officially kicked off his re-election campaign Thursday via a social media post on his Facebook campaign page. He will seek the Democratic nomination for mayor in the May 20 municipal primary.
“Today, I am announcing my run for re-election this year to complete the great successes we have achieved together throughout the last (seven) years,” Schember stated.
“There is still much work to accomplish. In the next four years, my team and I will continue to work on initiatives to increase jobs, develop more quality housing, reduce the City’s debt and structural deficit, and decrease crime.”
