Bristol man loses leg after trying to kill son with chainsaw
The Bristol Herald Courier 3 hrs ago
BRISTOL, Tenn. -- A Bristol man had to have his leg amputated after his son ran over him with a lawnmower to defend himself.
On June 28, officers with the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office were called out to a residence on Highway 421 in Bristol. When they arrived, a man was bleeding from his leg and his head, according to a press release.
A preliminary investigation showed the bleeding man, identified as Douglas Ferguson, 76, Bristol, had tried to attack his son with a running chainsaw while he was mowing the yard.
As Ferguson was attacking him, the son defended himself by running over his father with a lawn mower. The injuries on Ferguson were due to the lawn mower running him over, the release said. ... Detective said the two had a running feud. Ferguson ended up having to have his leg amputated.

(905 posts)4. I need more information
Was the son cutting his dad's lawn? Did he just sneak over and do a vigilante mow job?
Maybe his dad is part of the local "lawn police" and didn't think the son was angling the mower and then alternating the angle on alternate weeks?
Maybe dad had a DUI for mowing while drunk?
