Here in Tarrant, our voting rights are being assaulted by a group called Election Integrity
Our County Commissioners are holding a hearing regarding this issue
This group wants:
No early voting
No Vote by Mail
No Voting Centers
A return to single precinct Election Day only voting
A return to hand marked ballots only
No electronic registration rosters
No electronic voting machines
They also want our excellent Elections Director thrown out
If you can't attend the hearing, you can write to your Commissioner and state your opinion.
Next thing we know they will be asking us to guess the number of jelly beans in a jar.
I will definitely be writing to my Commissioner!!
The good news is that this court voted to establish voting centers with only one dissenting vote.
I have not heard if this is happening in other counties, but Tarrant is being targeted because we went heavily for Beto and Biden.
Also: if you are registered to vote in Texas, do not skip this all important runoff!!! This is where our Lt Governor and Attorney General nominees will be chosen. We need Mike Collier in that LtGov office. There are some other local runoffs on the ballot but to my knowledge these two are the only statewide ones. Low turnout in 2012 is how we got Ted Cruz.

What usually happens, is that this is a movement that has support from a network in the community that includes politically motivated lawyers and the newspaper editor as well.

Ours is 4 Dems and 1 Republican
Yes, they can hold sway: Elections administrator, voting machines, vote centers, budget dedicated to elections...
Fortunately, they can't get rid of early voting and voting by mail.
In Bexar our CC Court is trying to deal with SB 1 fiasco, but it's an uphill battle due to struggles with the state...
