One year ago, a highly venomous forest cobra escaped its enclosure in Grand Prairie, terrifying and captivating much of North Texas.
Some neighbors reported losing sleep. The cobra even spawned a Twitter profile, where it taunted would-be captors, hunted for an apartment and snacked on rabbits.
So what ever happened to the Grand Prairie cobra?
The gist: One year later, we still dont know.
No sightings have been reported of the black and beige snake, but authorities say it could still be alive and kicking, or maybe slithering is more precise.

Don't put your hands or feet in a dark place to look for anything, use a long stick. I would not want to be anywhere near a loose one. I took care of poisonous snakes at the zoo for a while, nope to a loose cobra. I loved the job but we were able to do it mostly with safe measures. Cobras can have real tempers.

(47,556 posts)Unless it finds a mate, its not going to become a menace to the eco-system. You probably have to be on the lookout for rattlers, so avoid snakes unless you know what kind they are.
