For the non-Houstonians, Mattress Mack owns a chain of furniture stores in the Houston area. I met him when he invested in the local horse track that had issues. Mack has done some good things like opening his stores for people during the freeze. Mack has placed a ton of bets on local sports teams.
There is a Gallery Furniture store really close to my house and I have purchased a bedroom set for my youngest child and last year I purchased an expensive mattress that would had been free if the Astros won the World Series.
I saw that ads for the GOP candidate running against Judge Lina Hidalgo and was very pissed and disappointed in Mattress Mack

While I have some thoughts as to who concerned citizen might be, I have nothing in the way of evidence, so I'll leave it at that.
That said, Mack does quite a bit of charitable work in the area that falls way below the public relations radar. It's beyond me why somebody who depends on customers from across the political spectrum would choose to alienate half of them.
