OK, get ready for this one. Virginia's GOP--reeling from losing every statewide election since 2009--just decided on its method to nominate GOV, LG, AG. No primary, no canvass. It's a drive-up "convention" on May 8 at one location only: LIBERTY UNIVERSITY.

They do have some rich boys jumping in but Cox has much deeper ties to the party establishment and machinery.

Its still 3 hours from Bristol. 4 hours at least from both NoVa and Tidewater. Screw you Eastern Shore. Remember the Byrd Machine was built on the Southside - rural farmers south of Richmond to the Carolina border.
Im guessing Liberty is symbolic for them. Who knows?
