…take I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass and then go north over Blewett Pass, so this shouldn’t affect tourism that much.

I’m more concerned about the people who live north of the canyon, in places like Winton and Nason Creek, who depend on getting to Leavenworth for most services. I guess they can get there via Plain and Chumstick, but it’s a lot longer trip, and I’m not sure what condition some of those roads might be in this time of year.

When you get off I-90 the slog north on 97 can be horrendous (and will be much worse now that this is the only real option), but it looks like that's the only way in and out for the next several months.

A shame - we always love going there (and we usually avoid the big 'celebration' weekend crowds). We'll make sure to try to add some trips soon and try to get some additional $$ into their economy. We have a timeshare that we can use that's only a block or so from Front Street.

Plus, there's now a blizzard warning out for the Cascades, which will make everything even more 'fun' negotiating the passes.
