I recall going up to a family type resort with my mom in the late '40's or so, I think it was on Twin Lakes or nearby.
Big, old white hotel on the the lake with a wrap around porch, a pier, meals included. Walk to town.
There were cicada's or ?? that year as when Dad came up on the weekend and there were big mothy things on all the store windows.
We stopped into a bar with food and I had a ginger ale and the best ham sandwich I ever tasted.
I seem to remember the resort had a family name. I'm sure it is long closed but I would love to find a photo or a reference to it as the week we spent up there was one of the happiest times of my young life.
Does this ring a bell with any old timer's?

(14,981 posts)My grandparents used to own a tavern there. Lost it in the Depression but it still existed in the 80s. I don't know the current name.

(1,922 posts)If you Google, there are some photos. It changed hand many times and was torn down for condos. Good luck and enjoy the memories.

You could try Greenway House Bed and Breakfast In Green Lake WI. close to what you want.
Theres an old hotel in the Green Lake Conference center too
