MADISON, Wis. (WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE PRESS RELEASE) - During National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, Attorney General Josh Kaul announces the formal partnership between the Wisconsin Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (WAHTTF) and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (MMIWR) Task Force. The goal of the partnership is to bring awareness to and address the prevalence of human trafficking in Wisconsin’s Indigenous communities, identify victims of both sex and labor exploitation, successfully investigate and prosecute offenders, and increase collaboration between law enforcement, tribal leadership, victim advocates, and other disciplines.

“Wisconsin DOJ works to hold traffickers accountable for their crimes and to support trafficking victims,” said Attorney General Kaul. “The new partnership between the Anti-Human Trafficking and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives task forces will help make both more comprehensive and effective.”

WAHTTF is a statewide multidisciplinary task force led by the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and Project Respect. WAHTTF upholds the intent of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act by ensuring that all trafficking victims are identified and receive access to a comprehensive array of support services, and that crimes of human trafficking are successfully investigated and prosecuted at the local, state, tribal, and federal levels.......................................

crimes. And then there are the famous Wisconsin fake electors who skip merrily down the path with no repercussions. I voted for him because he’s a Democrat, and that’s the only reason. Other than that he’s useless - in my humble opinion.

Remember when Wanker and Schimmel lost in 2018? They immediately went into a lame duck session and made the AG and Gov positions more accountable to - you guessed it - the GQP run legislature. There’s now, 5 years later, a bunch of stuff they aren’t allowed to do without legislative approval. Including starting new suits.

Whereas previously, WI used to initiate/sign on to lots of joint actions with other states, Kaul’s hands are now tied at the very least fiscally, keeping him from doing this and things like this.

Vent warning -this may or may not apply to you: I don’t understand how, after 14 years of GQP bull crap in WI and more nationally, everyone is so committed to bashing Dems instead of doing the least bit of freaking research. GOP manipulations should always be your first thought. How many years do these people have to abuse you legislatively and point their fingers at Dems before you start fucking looking at the GQP? If waking up to what’s going on isn’t happening here, on DU, we deserve to go a-swirling down the fascist fucking drain. Stop doing Putin’s work for him or we are fucking doomed.
