Record spending, ground game intensifies ahead of Wisconsin Supreme Court election Tuesday
MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Record spending and immense national interest is fueling a massive ground game ahead of the Wisconsin Supreme Court election April 1 between Susan Crawford and Brad Schimel.
"I jump right into it," Azaleia Baker said, the deputy state director for Americans for Prosperity Wisconsin, knocking doors in Waukesha County Wednesday.
Spending in the race has surpassed $90 million, according to the latest tally from WisPolitics, which includes nearly $20 million from two groups backed by Elon Musk, which is funding its own voter outreach efforts across the state.
"When they're bringing up Elon, it's usually in connection to Trump, and again, it's reminding voters while that plays a part, we need to remain focused on Wisconsin, our agenda and getting Brad Schimel elected," Baker said.
Democrats are urgently on the ground as well, with major statewide canvass operations underway.
