Why Tories Don't Need a Majority to Keep Power in 2016, and Beyond

As one of the comments to this article says, this is depressing. Enlightening, but depressing as hell.

Call it an unexpected doomsday scenario for New Democrats, Liberals and Greens, but the Conservatives have a clear path to stay in power after the election into 2016 -- and then fight a second election -- without Parliament ever sitting.

Those in power have every angle covered to stay in power. Regrettably, my opinions of the Canadian media, and the 'average voter' is only getting dimmer and dimmer too.

50% of people are below average.

I try to get out of my bubble occasionally and talk to people with different political, religious, or other opinions. I usually run back, take a shower, and hide under the blankets for a few days afterward. There are a lot of people with some very disturbing opinions. It's starting to make the lizard-alien-overlord folks that I encounter regularly seem almost benign.

Obviously America is no the only nation with a highly flawed electoral system.
