months before their illness robs them of mental capacity and for people with chronic but not terminal illnesses. The difference between the two parties could not be clearer. Nobody wants to see their loved ones suffering needlessly. Obviously you still screen for depression and make sure it is voluntary. I know two people who did MAID and i feel relief for them and their families that they fit within the guidelines and could die painlessly and peacefully and with less trauma. I so wish we had the choice when my mom died of Parkinsons'. A month before she passed she told me she wanted to go. Instead she had another month of not eating after 7 months of barely eating anything but liquids. It was awful in her last days though she had morphine. My dad on the other hand is 89 and though he is slowing down and a bit confused he is as happy as a clam in a nursing home. So i hope he lasts as long as he wants to.

I am hoping that the Canadian people do not fall for the conservative bs, which is just an extension of the US republican party. It has now been reported that Republicans are backing them financially as well as in ads. Canadians are fickle.
