Psychiatric wards overwhelmed as Daily Mail readers try to like brown-skinned immigrant

Many Daily Mail readers have suffered severe mental breakdowns when faced with the idea of sycophantically fawning over someone they would normally be subjecting to thinly veiled racist abuse in the MailOnline comments section.

Dr Tinnock, head of Psychiatry at Tunbridge Wells Royal Infirmary said that his service was expecting more catatonic curtain-twitchers in the build-up to the wedding.

“It’s too much for them. On the one hand, Harry is their favourite royal after Philip because of that German uniform photo and because he’s machine-gunned Muslims from a helicopter.

“On the other hand, she’s not only a confident black woman but she campaigns for gender equality. They don’t have the mental flexibility to assess them as a couple.”

....are the crashing right wing bores of the Spectator.

Other than that, I haven't come across anyone wishing ill of the couple, although many are fed up with the press coverage.

"this will end in tears", that she's an "actress with many notches on the bedpost", and even that she's "substantially older" than him. And, of course, that she has a "non European racial admix" or is a "mulatto". She's been summed up as a "slag", or a "gold digger". This is all in one thread on a website. And they've yearned for Katherine, or Chelsy whatever-her-name-is that Harry used to go out with, as the "proper" sort of woman a royal ought to marry. Some are opnely saying it's about race, others are scrabbling for excuses because they know they shouldn't say that.

Having said that, some of the people on that website who are fairly typical Mail readers are reacting in a normal pro-royal way, saying she's very nice, and taking the piss out of those who do have issues with her ethnicity.

And I do wonder if the internet keyboard colonels would be so keen to spout that tripe in real life.

Furthermore, would they really complain if their own son were to come home with Meghan Markle and announce that they were going to marry her over big fat Bertha from Biggleswade, or one of their own cousins as Royals used to do in times past?

Because if they don't, we'll hear about nothing else on the fecking media for the foreseeable future.

The funny thing is that from the photos I've seen, Markle could easily be mistaken for Kate and Pippa Middleton's third sister!
