Boris Johnson likes to pretend he's tough on law and order. If he refuses to obey the law, he should be escorted out of Number 10 in handcuffs.
He is between a rock and a hard place - the far right ERG would rather like seeing him in old smokey as a prisioner of conscience... it would play rather well into their victim mentality...
We are a county of laws To have a conservative Prime Minister to even suggest that he only has to comply with law in theory is such a fundamental risk to our democratic principles. These democracy stealers are outrageous.

"Only bound in theory." Sorry officer, I thought that speed limit sign was just a suggestion.

(14,118 posts)1. Boris and his Reich-wing pals deserve to be in prison NOW
for their manipulation/corruption of the vote in 2016. And we Yanks wonder why we can't have impeachment!

(which would indeed make him a conviction politician in more senses than one!)
He probably deserves to, but can you imagine all the knuckledragger campaigns to 'Free Boris the Blessed Brexit Martyr'?! It would be 1000 times worse than the Tommy Robinson campaigns.

He is a charlatan - to get a conviction he would need conviction...
