What are Bel Edwards chances of becoming US Senator assuming Kennedy becomes Governor?

John Kennedy runs for Governor of Louisiana in 2023 and wins. John Bel Edwards, the current Democratic Governor of Louisiana has to leave office in 2024 due to term limits. Bel Edwards runs for Kennedy’s US Senate seat.
LA could be a Republican held US Senate seat up for re-election in 2024 that Democrats can win with a top tier Democratic nominee- a popular 2 term Democratic Governor.

What are Bel Edwards chances against Kennedy?

particularly women's and lgbt issues, but he is a veteran and , despite a hostile legislature, fixed the economic shambles left by jindal.

if he is elected governor he will select his replacement in the senate (maybe piush jindal.) .

more likely kennedy stays in senate and landry (state ag and a rwnj) wins governor.

cassidy won in 2020 so our next shot for senator will be 2026.

john bel edwards is the first governor in louisiana history without a trace of scandal. biden needs to find a job for him in defense or homeland security (maybe fema)
