(Thanks to Egnever) Other thread's problem resolved by uninstalling Adobe Flash? What will this do?

The problem of "Warning: Unresponsive plugin" appears to be resolved by uninstalling Adobe Flash.

So, what will this do/not do for me? I've tried YouTube and the videos work. On Mediaite, a vid from t.v. didn't, error message "A plugin is required."

I hardly watch any kind of videos, but anything else that won't work? What, then, is Adobe Flash for? Is there another Flash product?

now it isn't as most everyone is transitioning to HTML 5.

If you are using Firefox I suggest you have Flash installed but use an add-on that disables it by
default for all sites.

Which flash? Adobe, but with add-on? Which add-on?

Or some other flash (what?). Which add-on?

And install this Firefox plug-in:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/quickjava/

I have Flash unchecked by default and only enable it if I want to watch some video or use some
other feature on a site that specifically requires it.

5. O.K., this was like Groundhog Day the movie, from the other thread.

I clicked on the addons.mozilla link and installed, then reinstalled the Adobe Flash, and all the same problems came back. I'm going to uninstall those things and just "let it go" to coin a phrase. Thanks anyway.

6. After you unstalled the add-on you have to set the add-on option to un-enable Flash

7. Thanks, but the Firefox plugin installed a bunch of JavaScript icons

and it brings up another thing from the past, the great JavaScript to-do or not-to-do, which I've forgotten what was about and was doing fine without it; and I don't know how to do the disable-default thing and will just do without it all until I need it. But Really, thanks. Am checking out (away) now.

fine with javascript turned off. Sometimes you just lose a few features on the website (for example on DU
without javascript you don't see embedded videos).
