And battery was able to be swapped. Have you googled it?

I also had screen replaced a couple of times.

It could also be the charging port, which is also replaceable.

so he had a new battery put in. It helped for a few months but eventually he had to get a replacement phone. Hardware failure. Not if, but when, when it comes to hardware failure.

Make sure you get the right charger. For my Nexus 7 (Yes, 10 years and still kicking) I needed a docking station because the USB plug was loose through usage (and N7 does not support wireless charging).

I rotate batteries in my Android, one in use, one in the charger. Works very well
