How Can I Remove Bing from My MacBook

Use Safari version 10.1.2

I've spent hours following instructions about manually removing Bing from my MAC. None of the proposed solutions work.

Any ideas?

Go to Safari and select "Preferences"
Under the General section go to "Home Page"
Change the home page from the Conduit search option to something else (e.g. www.duckduckgo.com)
Keep the dialog box open and select the "Exensions" tab.
Find the Conduit Search tool, select "Uninstall" and click the "Uninstall" button.
Close and reopen the browser to see the changes take effect.
Note: At this stage Conduit Search is removed, however address bar searches may still be set to Bing. To change address bar searches to Google or Yahoo! select the magnifying glass on the left-side of the address bar and choose your preferred search provider from the drop-down menu.

I prefer www.DuckDuckGo.com for search as it does not track you and does not present bought and paid for searches at the top.

on MS10. I do not want it to search the internet. Mostly I would like it gone but would settle for it not searching the internet when I just want to search the info on my computer. Sorry to intrude on your thread but though someone might be able to help me with a different take on the same problem. Thanks.
