Well, my 3 year old Dell laptop seems on the way out - recommendation for a good Windows

laptop - 15 inch screen - in the 700-1200 range? I am mostly using it for writing, blogging, live Zoom videos, photos.

I've had Dells, HPs and Lenovos in my past - I've not loved any of them, but need them. Looking on Amazon is just a baffling mess - went to Dell and try to order one and it says won't be ready until July.

So - Windows, not a Chromebook, screen size not critical (12 or 13 or 14 or 15) - but reliable and fast is most important.

thanks!

to wear out, battery no longer holds a charge, today during a Zoom webinar I had a system crash. It is just becoming unreliable. 2-3 years is a typical duration of a laptop in my possession!

3. Are you sure that your laptop is toast?

I agree with you totally that Amazon is a mess. A few years ago, it was the best source for tech, but no more.

Your laptop is only 3 years old, so I would think you could easily restore it to a brand new state.

5. Why would you ever go to Amazon for MS tech service?

I wouldn't go to Microsoft to get educated on the Amazon website.

Lenovo ThinkPad W530 15.6" 32G RAM w/Windows 10 Professional

I bought it used for $190 and had a new HD installed on it and had it worked over for $200.00.

It is a fine machine yes indeed.

I could not be happier with it!

I hope you find something that is good and will last for a long time!

Best of luck.

Dell Inspiron15 5000 series laptop. In January I upgraded mine through our local computer repair guy.

I've had no issues with Dell...my company standardize to Dell years ago so I've always had Dells...I tried a HP PC and didn't like it all.

I think the current version of the Inspirion15 is the 7000 series...juiced up probably in your price range.

15. This is a nice laptop if you can find them still

But I agree that 3 year old laptop should still be in service unless you beat it to shit. Try a clean install of the OS via the recovery tools.

One thing I would recommend is to get yourself a good docking station for working at home, and connect a full size key board and mouse, as well as a nice 24 to 27" monitor. It will save you wear and tear on your laptop keyboard and allows for better body positioning.

Also what do you mean by fast? What is it you are trying to do? When you say photos, do you mean photo editing?

always good deals, warranty, and if you can be patient, they send out coupons for up to 40% off. I paid less than $400 for a latitude E5470.....

A few months ago and it seems ok. The features I really wanted were present so I got it. I wanted illuminated keys, no touch screen. I realized later that it doesn't have the ten key pad, which I kind of miss but can live without.
