My mouse is very sensitive and I end up hitting the right click all the time but that is not

all the problem. While I am roaming around the whole internet shuts down and I have to go back in and then I have to put all my passwords in and my icons on my landing page, (Ecosia) are all gone.

It is a big fat pain in the ass. Now that I am only typing it is steady so I think it is the mouse but I don't know what to do to make it stop. Also it not just shuts down sometimes it just looks like there is some apparition moving and shut down sites.
Oh, all my tabs get shut also.
I really appreciate any information here. I end up really pissed at this thing

1. Is the old kind with the ball?

You may need to clean your ball. Yeah, not funny. Clean your mouse balls used to be an old joke. If it's the light one, you may need to wipe it or maybe you have a loose wire.

the mouse to the computer through bluetooth. The one I have now has a wire and you connect it into the same port and it stays connected with the wire. I like this one better because the bluetooth ones sometimes don't work or they get patchy.

3. I have had worn out mouse buttons

left or right. And the mouse clicks without even thinking about it. If it's an old mouse, then it's time to replace it. They wear out if you do a lot of games requiring clicking. I've worn out a mouse in 2 years, then a replacement (same brand and model) lasted about 1.

You can test if it's the mouse by switching out another mouse. Mice are cheap. Internet shutdowns might be malware. Awesome app malwarebytes can be downloaded free. You'll get a couple week trial. I do IT for a living and those would be the first things I'd look at. There's more of course but these are fast and easy.

7. I just downloaded MalwareBites and run a scan and it found 6 things that I believe

were messing with my puter. When I got on there was a notice to restore my tabs if I wanted. I haven't see that in awhile.

Yes, mice are cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. My preference is for an HP or Microsoft wired mouse. It's worth paying a little extra. Nothing fancy - no extra buttons.

Something you can try; grab a can of compressed air - sometimes called an air duster. Give the red light on the bottom of your mouse a blow out. There may be a bit of dirt trapped in there. Without knowing your operating system, you can also look up 'Mouse' in settings and the old control panel if you still have access. You can slow down the speed of pointer travel, click speed etc.

In Win 10 and 11 there are some extra input controls under Accessibility in Settings.

11. I've been using wireless mouses for a decade or so.

They are vastly more convenient, in my opinion.

I also stick to a basic mouse. A few years ago I needed a new one and bought something much fancier, and within two hours returned it.

My current mouse is a Logitech, and yes, they do need to be replaced every so often.

Sounds like malware.
