After being hacked I have no mobile network

This has taken weeks to appear. But my Mobile Network shows up as GLOBAL. It should be Spectrum Mobile. But that is greyed out.

When I looked at email senders after I was hacked a month ago, I noticed the .ru at the end of the address. That indicates Russia, I believe. Some of the spelling was very British. i e. Flavour.

Tech support hasn't been helpful. I had to jettison my old email address, but it's possible they've hacked my wifi via the router.

Anybody else experienced this? At a couple of points I got to this prompt. But I don't know most of what is required.

I will not be much help but I will tell you that the .ru is the clue to
clearing it out.
I was still finding remnants for a year or so.
Infecting multiple machines. You can get rid of them, I never paid any ransom.

Especially about Geek Squad.
Type in .ru hack help on Youtube.
Then try variations of the search.
It's not new so there is a lot of good advice.

A couple of articles have the signs, which you may recognize.

Short answer to "what do I do? "

Most of these, outside of power-cycling the home router (I presume you are talking home service. I use spectrum but only for the phone's cell service) are kind of techie, so

A. Try to get spectrum to replace the router/modem, since you are probably renting it. Say it's broken so that lazy techies can't give you the run-around.

B. Call the authorities. I once called the local FBI office when there was an office hack where I worked. They may be working on an organized attack, trying to find out who done it. Especially if it's Russian. DOJ/FBI are eager to bust Russian and Chinese organized attacks.

C. Geek Squad might balk, but try to get your money's worth. They may know how to diagnose and restore a hacked home router.

Geek Squad can probably give you a cheat sheet on what to do after a hack. Articles on the internet vary widely.

I think I got rid of the finger prints. I'm going to go to the Spectrum store. My visual voicemail hasn't worked in ages. I've downloaded other apps, but am anxious about actually using them.

In line banking. I’ve quit all online banking. I go to the bank and stand in line. All the tellers know me by name.

One setting was wrong. Network mode. Not sure when or why it happened.

Interesting that the young man who helped me has the same issue with visual voicemail as I. And more interesting was in the period of time it took me to drive there, I was offline and unable to receive calls. But when I got back online, before I reached my car, a voicemail appeared. First time in ages.

While enjoying an episode of Monk the sound suddenly cut out. It was coming from a Sonos Beam. I've taken advantage of Sonos, listening to podcasts, music stations and special playlists. Often set to a timer. But this challenge of my email hack may have tipped over into the Sonos system. I couldn't easily change my email on my profile. Hours later no sound from the TV.. it took many hours waiting to chat, not finishing, and having to wait until tomorrow. But I did retrieve the music features. TV speakers do work. But I'm an audio file and a musician, so I needs my sounds.

I do wonder if it's one of the HDMI optical cables. I am going to try the Geek Squad again.

At least these annoying things are happening consequtively and not simultaneously.
