Just got an iPhone 5 and a iPod mini. Not the easiest set up, but....

that's because my iPad2 and my Macbook air were stolen, the bastids!

So, it was not easy to set up the iPhone on Wednesday but I think I have it nailed.

Today my task is to restore, as best I can, this new mini iPad, to have the same content and connectivity as my Air, and Phone, and other gadgets.

The burglary of my home really messed with my mind.

Buying top end replacements is therapy.

Any set-up tip are appreciated- my iCloud account isn't without it's limitations so I have to rebuild the content as required.

The little black 64 GB iPad Mini is just like kitty fur.

(Did that with my own MiniPad )

Sorry to hear about your break-in - that sucks on so many levels; having your stuff stolen is just one of them. Hope they catch they asshole(s).

But congrats on the new stuff! You'll love the MiniPad!

Only because I hadn't used the two iPads that much for pics or videos, so when I backed up from iCloud there wasn't much content there.

They only had apps and a few videos, and the videos I downloaded to iMac.

Backing up to the iPhone 5 will bring in ALL of my photos and music and videos and movies.

Also, I went for the 64 GB to match the iPhone 64GB, sort of to keep the two devices paired, though I'm not sure that one will out-need the other in practice.

I think, too, that we should all be thinking about the cloud as our harddrive- I hadn't paid for extra storage in the past but it might be the only way to go for security and reliability.

Love the hand-held size of this mini!!!

Thanks, REP!

Of course, I need a new card reader for the MiniPad, but I dumped the memory stick off my camera onto the iPad so often I was down to Mgs of memory left on the device. The extra iCloud storage means I don't have to worry about what's on my photography apps (I don't use Photo Stream; I don't think I could afford that much storage! )

I always get the largest memory available phone, and this time I ordered my own iPad (instead of letting my husband do if - I didn't want to wait, not even for the discount) and got max memory this time, too
