Theyll have twice the maximum space of the current fourth-generation iPads, but theyre not for bargain hunters: The Wi-Fi-only model of the new 128GB iPad will carry a suggested retail price of $799, while the ones that also handle cellular connections will go for $929. Theyll be available next Tuesday at Apples online and bricks-and-mortar outlets. The companys targeting businesses that need extra storage to handle memory-intensive applications and files including 3D CAD, X-rays, film and music editing, and blueprints. The additional memory means that enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs, Apple SVP Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller says. Apples unusual decision to upgrade the iPad midway though its life cycle has led to some speculation that the company will wait longer than expected to introduce a fifth-generation iPad. The current model was unveiled in October. But investors appear to like the move: Apple shares which are down nearly 35% since mid-September are up 1.2% in early trading while the overall market is flat.

(12,471 posts)or should I say not so comparable Windows version 6.2 (aka Windows 8) Surface.
Okay, so you may not know what I mean by Windows version 6.2. Well here goes.
Remember Windows XP? Go and bring up a command prompt by going to start>run, and type in cmd. Press the enter key and you will see that it reports the version number which is 5.1.2600.
Do the same thing in Vista, and it reports 6.0.whatever.
Now try Windows "7" and it now reports that it is version 6.1! And here I thought it was version 7!
Do it with the comparable tools in windows 8, and you will see that it is actually version 6.2.
So all it seems that they did was change the windowing system, and not the basic kernel, or the heart of the OS. And people are being duped by it big time.

(12,471 posts)that they only changed the front end, the part that you see.
Everything that is underneath, that you don't see is the same as it was in Vista, well maybe with some minor changes, but the heart of it is the same!
