And Microsoft strikes again...

Ok, who here has a copy of Word for Mac, either version works for this.

Raise your hands if you have had some ahem...issues with colleagues who have windows versions of the software, in particular a year earlier than yours.

<---- over here.

So I started to do some research. No, it is not Mac, it is MS. They got some lovely issues with any version that is lower than yours. On the bright side. Those getting new shiny baubles in as office '13...will have them as well. Oh and 2010 to 2007 has issues too. It's the new features...that changes how the protocol works.

They got a LOOONG list of known issues. Yet, they are not including the major one, IMHO, kerneling. So...I got a netbook, got word SE (and we own a commercial copy) so work will now see me using that machine. I will miss my Mac, and my IPad, but XML files got me... As long as the boss uses word 07, we need (since we have it) to use what is almost 100% compatible...

I hate that business model by the way.

But if you got a SE and a commercial license, you can use the SE... Oh and there is more, they started doing that with '07, but they had to go public with that part of the EULA now. The RT version of Metro will not run the full version of office...

Lolz all around. Though it will 365, better known as our subscription service...

I keep up with the fun...cause well, I am sort of a geek...bit this should be a scandal...and reading some of this on Ars Technica yesterday I was having a huge throw rocks at Redmond...oh and if you have issues with pages files exported into word...those are 2008 filters...care to guess who owns that IP? Nope, not Apple.

Ready really to do this.

people complaint, but they rely on the ignorance/ hostage situation with customers. It works.

They will not run on the IPad, and trust me, I have looked.

a partial solution... need online access, as in constant, but...

rollap.com

They have online copies of libre and open office... I will need to use my external keyboard, but if I have wifi, that could be a solution to the problem.
