Related: About this forumMackeeper. Guidance please.
It wants me to clean my computer. ( Macbook pro laptop... about 2 + years old).
It won't let me alone. Pop-ups. Disembodied voices.
Worse than my late mother re. cleanliness. Sheeezz. Relentless.
So... what IS Mac Keeper?
Does it have anything to do w. Apple ?
Does it "know something I don't know" about my precious baby here?
What happens if i click "OK"?
How do i know the promised "cleaning" is really necessary?
And most importantly.......................................................... how much is this going to cost me?
Thanks all.

(53,661 posts)I went down to the 'Problems' section but found nothing. I don't have anything like that going on. Read what it says it does and if you're comfortable with that activity, I'd say just go with it. Probably has a pre-set schedule for 'cleaning' your computer of infection, or it may have found something it reads as a virus. It shouldn't cost anything, you already paid.

(14,498 posts)Too much tech jargon there for me to .....ummm.... *access*.
Main thing is: it's working fine right now. I'm a little leery of... you know.... "fixing it when it ain't broke."
Thanks, though. ( Don't forget: you promised to help me w. itunes a couple of weeks ago. So I'll be baaaaaaack.)

(14,498 posts)I don't remember ever ordering it, for one.
And I'm quite sure that I didn't pay for it.
THAT I would have remembered.
Thanks.

(30,947 posts)But I never could get it to work. I think that's because my OS X is an older version. I bought my Mac Mini in 2009 and have not updated it. I get the same pop-ups as you. I just delete them. It won't cost you anything, but is free to try.
