I don't really need the touch ID, and it seems other than the touch feature, they are the same.

(38,958 posts)I plan on upgrading from the iPad 1 shortly and am looking around now. The old one seems to be simply losing connection and shutting down on a regular basis and some of the newer features would be nice to have on the later models.

(60,146 posts)I have the same problem with mine. I find it to be on pages that are loading a bunch of information for side columns (ads and alike) that seem to be the first to crash.

(146,218 posts)I had my IPad 1 for 10 years and over the past year I have found that I can't download about 90% of the programs I want. The IOS is hopelessly out of date and it doesn't have a gyroscope. I definitely got my money's worth, but it's no longer serving a purpose.
And it's almost as heavy as my MacBook.
So, Ipad mini 2 it is!
Setting it up now. I love new toys.
