I just have to say I'm a little pissed at that.
I have a 7 year old Imac on it's last legs and I have been waiting on a new Imac with new internal architecture.
the last 2 have had pretty much the same.
I was hoping, via the massive rumor mills, that apple would finally release a new imac with a much upgraded chip set.
but alas.
I'm really frustrated. I honestly don't know what the hell they are thinking.

I'm sitting in the same boat. My iMac is also 7 years old and with this latest update to the OS (that mine can't get, because it's too old) I was really hoping today would be the day I could start looking forward to a new one. Guess we'll just have to wait a little longer.

(32,078 posts)My iMac is from late 2013 and does anything I ask of it. The current 4K and 5K Macs look very capable. What more would you need from these models?
I expect Apple will introduce Touch Bar to the iMac's standard keyboard or make it an option next year too. Apple had to focus on the MacBook first since the Microsoft Surface was beating them. I love their idea for the Touch Bar. So intuitive ... right where my hands are.
