so, i'm tryin to like this thing, but...

i dont know if i can live w/o the command key. like, no command z? i just cant.

also i get so much junk email, but i cant figure out how to delete them more than one at a time. w no keyboard up in that window, how do you select more than one? is there some kind of secret handshake?
also, is there a way to train the junk filter? some stuff i've deleted a dozen times and it still gets through. other stuff gets tagged junk even tho it is something i rarely get and likely never deleted. this was a thing i never got control of on my laptops, either.
i wouldnt care, but my icloud drive is full of mail. i dont want to dump it all, but it is piling up so fast.

1. If your using gmail

there is a circle on the left of the message.
Click on the circle and it will show a checkmark then just keep going down the list and check the things you don't want then hit the trash icon and they are gone.

2. I recently got a very nice apple laptop from the office, and I hate it primarily because

the Command key is not where the Control key is in Windows (and for most things it seems these are the equivalent keys on each platform). I use Control CONSTANTLY. It needs to be where I expect it.

Never used an Ipad but I'm very sure there's a multi-select ... there has to be.

Lots of apps have their own gesture functionality, so results may vary.

Number 4 is the most useful – the normal copy, cut, paste methods work fine in most cases.

8. In the Mail app, Tap iCloud (for just apple email), or All Inboxes. Then tap Edit on the top right

That will allow you to select multiple emails for trashing. Check off all the ones you want to trash in one fell swoop.

i think this app is hosed up. i cant add mailboxes either.
i spent an hour on the phone w apple support about this, and finally was told i had to update my os. since you need wifi to do this, wtf, i had to go somewhere to get it. this pad has it's own phone number. i have no need for wifi. but i cant update, and i cant back it up cuz i dont have wifi.
but did the update, and still nope.

i swear. i have had 3 iphones, 3 mac laptops, and now this thing. they get dumber w every new device.
too many baby geniuses and not enough cranky old ladies like me.

i need to get my infected laptops fixed. this thing makes me nuts.

11. Oops, it's not all the way to the right

It’s at the top right of the inbox section, so about 1/4 of the way across the top of the screen. It should just be the word Edit, in blue font.

I’m running 14.2 on an iPad Pro. But, it’s worked this way for at least the last several OS. It look me ages to figure out how to do it, so I feel your pain.
I would post pics, but don’t like the idea of uploading images of my email account to PostImage or Imgur, even with the personal info whited out.


ETA: The worst was figuring out how to attach multiple photos to an email. That nearly gave me ulcers. I think they may have made that easier now? Idk, I was so traumatized by the experience I just use texts to send photos now.

Just like you can set up rules on your Mac for the Mail app, you can do the same for iCloud.com Mail. You can move messages, mark them a certain way, or forward them automatically without even touching them. This is a terrific way to keep your inbox organized and find the emails you need much faster. ....

Head over to iCloud.com, sign into your account, and click Mail to get started.

1) Click the Show Actions Menu button (gear icon) on the bottom left and select Rules.

2) On the top right of the pop-up window, click Add a Rule.

3) Start at the top of the small box with If a message. Select an option from the drop-down box. You can choose from conditions like if a message is from a certain sender or has a particular word in the subject.

Option 2: Make rules on your Mac in Mail / Preferences. Leave Mac running a lot.

Option 3: on iCloud, you can use additional mail "aliases". Its the same account but a different address. So, when I subscribe to email list, I use one of my aliases.

------ If you have a Mac store near you, visit them for an overview. They may ask you to sign up for a tutorial.

If you don't use a computer for this email account, you might need to invest in a keyboard.
