Related: About this forumHow to indent or start a paragraph in DU
Hello, Semi functioning Boomer here. Problem is when composing a message I can't press return because it will submit the post instead of indenting for a new paragraph. My posts always are a single paragraph. It is only in DU as far as I can tell. My stereo forum functions correctly and I can indent. MacBook Pro Catalina 10.15.7

(45,585 posts)I have no problem posting multiple paragraphs on DU in a single message on DU.
That being said, I really didnt like Catalina. I got rid of it about a week after I installed it. (Yes I could type multiple paragraphs on it)
Big Sur and Monterey are much easier to use. Theyre still available to download if you would consider upgrading and your machine supports it.
Heres a tech note from Apple Support:
How to download macOS
Download and install current or previous versions of the Mac operating system.

P.S. you could also call Apple Support. Even though I dont think it is an Apple issue, they are really really helpful and could maybe help you troubleshoot. They have both text and phone support and and it is free.

(14,352 posts)But on DU, I (and apparently everyone else) have to hit the "Post my reply!" button to submit.
Return gets me a new paragraph on DU no matter the device.
When you say "indenting" I presume you mean creating a new paragraph.
I looked for ways to "indent" as in leading space.
Oh, this is wild.
I got those leading spaces by typing AMPERSANDnbsp a few times.
Previews properly but those characters disappear from the text entry box!!!
They are still there, just not visible. WOO HOO!!
Live and hack and learn.
But I don't see any way that typing return should "click the "Post my reply!" button.
Good luck tracking that down.
Boomer here too!
