years now using TurboTax online via Firefox Windows + Wine + Ubuntu. It works flawlessly.

2. The difference might be they are speaking of using the native Windows TurboTax

package with Wine. What I use is "web based" TurboTax, using Windows Firefox via Wine.

You can either use User Agent Switcher to masquerade as Windows, or click the "No Thanks, Continue Without Updating" button on the system requirements page. http://archive.org/details/DemoOfTurbotaxOnlineLinuxSupport_265
