(131 posts)saw it last week on the Mint site. But I would need a usb monitor (do they exist?) to use it as a desktop or I could use it to replace my old centos file/media/Sockso/backup server

(27,677 posts)i only think about monitors when mine is starting to act up LOL
Both of the ones I use right now do not have hdmi and I always thought of hdmi as 'high-end' and TV related.
But thanks for the info

(6,907 posts)I guess you use it as a desktop in your office and at the end of the day bring it home and use it as your home pc? I guess you'd have a monitor in both places and a usb wireless plug at each with a keyboard and a mouse, so you could just take out the plug. Or maybe get the same at both and just take the wireless plug in it. I can't think if I'd like that. It is interesting though. You'd have a fairly small by modern standards hard drive, and I don't think the performance of the AMD dual core is too great comparatively. I'm wondering if anybody can tell me how they envision using one?

(8 posts)I definitely would want one just for browsing the web, checking email, or DU, but really for powerful applications you need a bit more firepower. I see a serious conceptual problem though; whats the point? I mean sure, it might save you some space, but since when do you need to take your desktop around with you? Nowadays, small netbooks are jampacked with more stuff than this little thing. But i must admit this thing is still pretty awesome!
