I suppose Leahy of Vermont is like others who are aging and have health concerns. He will have to virtually be on his death bed before he will retire.

Since he did have a health issue not so long ago, is his health okay to hang on through this election and for six more years after that?

Leahy has done a good job for Vermont, but a Democrat could hold on to that seat if he doesn't run again.

Lt Governor Molly Gray
Attorney General TJ Donovan
President Pro Tempore of the VT Senate Becca Balint
Speaker of the VT House of Representative Jill Krowinski

Can former Lt. Governor David Zuckerman who lost the 2020 VT Governor's Election to Phil Scott by a 40 something % margin win? Winning a US Senate Election in VT for a Democrat is easier than Winning a Governor's Election in VT against a strong candidate like Phil Scott.

VT never had a female US Senator so Gray, Balint, or Krowinski are the likely candidates.
