Barack Obama
Related: About this forumObama environmental action passes another judicial test
The Supreme Court supported rule that promotes electricity conservation, handing a big victory to environmentalists and President Barack Obama.
The 6-2 decision overturned a federal appeals panel ruling and affirmed the Federal Energy Regulatory Commissions authority to incentivize programs that reduce power consumption during peak demand periods by paying large users to curb their demand. Although states could opt out of FERCs regulation, the lower court argued that the agency had overstepped its powers.

(16,104 posts)2. The Supreme Court had several nice rulings this week.
Including an affirmation of precedent of the Court regarding states attacking abortion rights.
Maybe more women on the Supreme Court is actually giving the 'good ol' boys' a new perspective!
Except for "those two," you know.
