Boycott states with 2 Red Senators like Kentucky, Texas, TN, SD, NE, KS, AR, MS, AL, GA, SC, UT, WY, OK, AZ, Etc. I say Manchin should be thanked for caucusing with the Dems. We need his vote for the gavel!!! Don't like many of his votes, but I appreciate his support for the Democratic control of the Gavel which we will win in 2020!! (2018 was a long shot not really realistic to get control)

3. So what's the plan for after Manchin loses his seat?

Sit back and feel satisfied while Republicans keep their majority in the Senate, Mitch McConnell keeps his job as Majority Leader, and Republicans control all the Senate committees?

Or is there some other option I’m not seeing here?

7. I'm trying to think of a time when Manchin was the deciding vote for the GOP

I can't, after googling, but I'd be glad to know if there was one. It seems to me like he votes with the GOP when he's not the deciding vote.

Even having him nominally be a Democrat helps the Democrats when it comes to committee assignments, etc.

It would be great to have a more progressive Democrat in that office, but could it happen?

Boycotts would also hurt Democrats and liberals in West Virginia (yes, there are some)! We can’t abandon those who are fighting the good fight.
